
Bharatanatyam
Since the tender age of 7, Rama Kuknur has been learning Bharatanatyam under the able guidance of world-renowned Dancer and Guru Dr Sucheta Bhide-Chapekar. Today, Rama has blossomed into an accomplished, young exponent. She is a Gold medallist in the M.A. Bharatanatyam course from The Centre For Performing Arts, S V Pine University.
Rama's dance is marked by grace and precision in Nritta as well as eloquence in Abhinaya, with which she is able to form immediate rapport with her audiences. She also has equal command on the NrityaGanga Bani (synthesis of Bharatanatyam and Hindustani classical music), which is her Guru's special contribution. Since her first stage appearance in 2007, Rama has given solo presentations in Pune on a number of occasions and has also performed in Aurangabad, Nasik and Mumbai. She has accompanied Dr Sucheta Chapekar in various Dance performances. The most noteworthy among them is her participation in the prestigious 'Sawai Gandharva' Music Festival 2015, along with her Guru which won her many accolades.
She has been a CCRT Dance Scholarship holder for 6 years. A winner of many State and National level competitions, she has won the prestigious Firodiya Competition for three consecutive years and also a Bharatanatyam choreography competition in Mumbai organised by Dadar – Matunga cultural centre.
She is an important member of Kalavardhini Sankul, a renowned dance group and has also gained valuable performance experience by performing in “Parikramaa” dance festival organised by Kalavardhini for the past nine years. Her dance choreography and performance in Kalidasa’s ‘Meghadoot’ was recognised and acclaimed by the critiques. She has been a worthy participant in workshops conducted by Smt. Rama Vaidyanathan. Her approach towards dance presentation is all pervasive, sensitive as well as intellectual and Rama is treading ahead on the path of Bharatnatyam journey with devotion and zeal.

Belly Dance
Belly dance is an art form that is specially meant to bring out the finer aspects of one’s inner beauty and focuses on the feminine aspects of one’s self. It empowers one to face the world with zest & confidence. Initially it was known only as the cult of folk dance that originated in ancient Egypt. Then as it spread, it was modified and incorporated with other dance forms like Khaleeji, Baladi & Cabaret, without losing its original roots. Today, it is widely popular and much in demand. Focusing on technique & styling, the dance training will be most authentic. The training involves toning up of one’s body & keeping one flexible and in shape.

Pooja Wadke has been learning Belly dancing since 2010, and has completed her Professional Certification Course as well as the Teacher Training Course. She has done workshops under Meher Malik, Sakshi Malik, Katie Holand, Yagna Chheda & many more. Pooja has been performing and teaching since the past 3 years. She is now expanding her horizons by learning other dance forms such as Salsa and Bachata. She is also pursuing her other interests such as Yoga & Women’s Healing, through experimentation in these fields, teaching Yoga and participating in Women Health Awareness Programs.
